Network Engineer:
Reports to: Engineering Manager

Description of Duties:

Technical Tasks:

  • Customer service: Establish and maintain relationships with customers. Prior to commencing any work, briefly speak with the customer contact and inform them of your objective.
  • Troubleshoot: Install, configure, engineer and networking devices, per manufacturer and/or company standards, ensuring that customer applications and data remain accessible.
  • Apply basic troubleshooting skills of problem isolation and single change corrections to ensure problems are resolved in a timely manner.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Enter time daily into the Time Management system (as of this writing, a web enable application). Charge customers for fair amount of time spent on tasks, not for educational time previously approved.
  • Integrate with sales staff to formulate and present solutions to customers that are both in line with what the customer needs and within the scope of the offerings of The Network Team, Inc.
  • Follow-up with customers both before a project starts and after it ends to ensure high quality of service. Make sure tasks are complete.
  • Work from home. Maintain a car, telecommunications equipment and tools necessary to complete your job in at least a satisfactory manner.
  • Bill a minimum of 28 hours per week, coordinating schedules with customers and company tasks.

Professional Expectations:

  • Dress appropriately for each engagement, wearing TNT logo clothing on any new engagement.
  • Continuing education is a job requirement. Read and discuss current trends in the industry with other TNT staff and business partners to ensure cohesive direction and presentation. Attend seminars and pass written exams, as is deemed appropriate to ensure that TNT quality is above industry average.
  • Honesty with customers and staff.
  • Vision of stewardship of both customers and company property.

Evaluation Mechanisms:

  • Each technician will receive formal evaluations each year.
  • The first 90 days of employment are a trial period. At the end of this period, both employee and employer reserve the right to terminate this contract without justification.

Pre-requisites:

  • Cisco CCNA
  • 2 years or more experience working with home PC hardware or equivalent, demonstrating competence to change out PC Hardware, Software and networking devices.
  • Entry level knowledge of Networking Essentials, including telco products and services. Although this is a part of the CCNA cert process, we include it here to stress its importance.
  • Entry Knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products, with the ability to work on these devices unsupervised is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot any networking problem, giving the right resources.

 

Account Executive
Reports to: Sales Manager

Description of Duties

Securing New Customers:

  • Present and sell Information Technology services to small to medium sized businesses that have a presence in NC, SC, or VA. Other areas can be included, upon pre-approval.
  • Meet with prospective customers at their location of business. Establish relationships with prospects, even if there appears to be no immediate business.
  • Integrate both with administration and information technology to formulate and present solutions that are both in line with what the customer needs and within the scope of the offerings of The Network Team (TNT).
  • Make sure no technical work is started without the customer first signing a Professional Services Agreement that defines and preserves TNT’s legal position.
  • Follow-up with customers before a project starts, during the project and after it ends to ensure high quality of service and that communication between all invested parties.
  • Work with business partners to develop a lead referral service.

Maintaining Current Customer Base:

  • Meet with current customers at least quarterly and perform customer service interview to determine if needs are being addressed.
  • Inform current customers about our new offerings.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key and new contacts within each account.
  • Survey customers' satisfaction levels and report any concerns to management.

Professional Expectations

  • Maintain a home office with Internet access, dedicated phone service and mobile communications.
  • Dress appropriately for each engagement.
  • Be available during business hours and set notifications and reminders visible to all when not available. Use tools provided to keep internal TNT staff informed, as well as prospects and customers or your availability.

Communications and Evaluation Mechanisms

  • Join a weekly online meeting/conference call to discuss account activity and prospecting efforts.
  • Log all activities in CRM, tracking emails and phone calls to clients and prospects.
  • Each account executive will seek guidance and assistance from the sales manager, who will assist them as they prospect for new business
  • Each account executive will meet approximately annually with management to discuss previous year’s success and failures and strategize for the next year.

Compensation

  • Account executives will begin with a non-recoverable draw against commissions then migrate to a draw and commissions.
  • Manufacturer’s spifs and rebates are all directly paid to the Account Executive.

The Network Team
